Russian military news website recently speculated that China’s J-20 stealth fighter might not be used for close combat, but for dealing with American reconnaissance planes and tanker aircrafts with its long-range air-to-air missiles. These aircrafts are critical for USA in West Pacific.
It says canard configuration of J-20 fighter isn’t good for the stealth, but successful trial flight of J-20 fighter largely surprised USA.
At present, Chengdu Aircraft Factory has made six prototypes of J-20, and designers are still improving J-20 fighter’s structure, and stealth performance of the rear part.
Photoelectric detection system fairing has also been installed on J-20 stealth fighter, which is similar to EOTS system on American F-35 fighter jet.
