Xian Y-20 Military Transport Aircraft

On the 16th Beijing Aviation Exhibition on Sep. 16th, a Chinese company and Ukrainian “Power Tsar” MotorSich announced that they will establish an aviation power industrial base in China.

The Ukrainian company’s engines were used on a series of military transport aircrafts and helicopters, including An-12/32/24/26/30, An-124/225, Tu-334, Ka-27, Ka-28, Ka-29, Ka-31, Ka-32, Ka-50, Ka-50-2, Ka-52, Mi-8, Mi-14, Mi-17, Mi-171, Mi-172, Mi-24, Mi-25, Mi-26, Mi-28, Mi-35, etc.

At present, Chinese Y-20 military transport aircraft is using D-30 engine from Russia, of which the technology has been outdated, MotorSich’s D-18T engine for An-124 is a bit too big for Y-20, but if China brings in the type of engine, it will help produce homemade engine.
