J-20’s engine cut out in a trial flight

According to a news report on test pilot for maiden flight of J-20 fighter, J-20’s engine cut out in a trial flight.

A dialogue between the pilot Li Gang and control tower was unveiled in the official report. According to the dialogue, Li Gang reported that J-20 fighter’s engine has stopped running, and fortunately, he restarted the engine later.

On last year’s Zhuhai Air Show, J-10B demonstrated China’s self-developed vector engine. And when asked why J-20 hasn’t used the same type of engine, its general engineer Yang Wei asked in reply: “how do you know we haven’t?”
