Type 075 amphibious assault ship No. 2 to be trialed

According to the latest reports on December 22th, the latest satellite images and online photos show that type 075 No.1 ship is moored at the Sanya Naval Base in Hainan, China, which faces the South China Sea. And the base is witnessing two additional dry docks being built, which can accommodate aircraft carriers.

Meanwhile, the latest photos of type 075 No. 2 ship are circulating on the Internet. Some military observers predict that the 075 II will test sail on Dec. 22, according to the latest navigational warning issued by the China Maritime Administration. The latest navigational warning shows that the test ship will be “H24” on that day, compared to “H23” shown on the previous navigational warning when the first 075 ship was on trial.

With a displacement of 36,000 tons, type 075 amphibious assault ships can carry various types of helicopters, including the Z-9, Z-10, Z-18, and Z-20, as well as landing craft and armored vehicles.

Type 075 amphibious assault ship of China is believed to be comparable to Wasp-class. Once it’s in service, it will significantly improve the PLA’s three-dimensional landing and amphibious assault capabilities.
