Chinese submarine of unknown type unveiled

China’s CCTV Military Channel announced on December 15 that a new type of submarine from a certain submarine detachment of the Chinese Navy entered unfamiliar waters and completed combat training courses such as breaking through anti-submarine blockades with new destroyers, anti-submarine helicopters, and light frigates.

However, the video did not announce the specific model and performance of the submarine.

At a time when Sino-US relations continue to be tense, the balance of forces between China and the US has become the focus of attention from outsiders, especially in the naval field, and French media believe that by 2030, the two countries’ rankings in naval power will shift, according to analyst Bu Lan.

It’s reported China has not only expanded the Bohai Shipyard, which builds nuclear submarines, but also recently moved a non-nuclear submarine shipyard to a shipyard further down the Yangtze River. The latter is larger and more independent.

This will speed up China’s submarine construction, and it is expected that new levels of attack submarines and ballistic missile submarines will soon come out.
