Chinese UAV company tests airborne drone carrier

According to Xi’an Zhongtian Feilong Intelligent Technology Company’s official WeChat account on April 1, the company carried out the verification and delivery of the “unmanned drone swarm carrier system” technology at an airport in western China on March 20. The “unmanned airborne carrier” for this mission can carry 9 child drones, and open the cabin to sow them after arriving at the mission point airspace under a strong confrontation environment.

According to its introduction, the swarm unmanned drone system has the advantages of flexible mode, safety and efficiency, self-organization of tasks, and convenient operation to meet the requirements for use in complex combat environments. “The child drones are precisely launched by the parent drone platform, which can complete reconnaissance, early warning, jamming, attack, evaluation and other diversified combat tasks.

The system realizes foldable high-density mounting, child drones are folded and packed densely; after the parent drone arrives at the mission point, it opens the cabin and the swarm drone units are delivered in time sequence to ensure the spreading speed, direction, attitude, and separation distance to meet the needs of cluster sowing.

In addition, the swarm unmanned cluster system of China has many characteristics in national defense applications: 1. Distributed approach and reconnaissance of targets in a strong confrontation environment; 2. Improve the approach and interference methods in the electronic offensive system to ensure the safety of the troops; 3. Enrich the combat styles of Army UAVs, expand the combat range, and build a new integrated combat method for swarms of distributed observation and combat.

Flying Loong I UAV developed by the same company won an order from the Chinese army last year, beating the famous Wing Loong II.
