Chinese Air Force Takes Off from Russian Airfield for the First Time in Joint Military Exercise

On the 18th, the assembled Chinese air force contingent, in cooperation with Russia, completed preparations for the Northern Alliance 2023 joint military exercise.

The Chinese air force participating in the drill includes various types of fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, such as the Y-20 transport plane, KJ-500 airborne early warning aircraft, J-16 fighter jet, and Z-20 utility helicopter. During this exercise, the air force will conduct takeoffs and landings at unfamiliar airfields, fly in unfamiliar areas, and operate under unfamiliar conditions, according to CCTV.

Military experts noted that the Chinese air force contingent will be participating in the exercise for the first time by taking off from Russian airfields.
