Chinese army uses individual exoskeletons on Sino-India front

Chinese powered exoskeleton

China’s CCTV Military Channel reported on December 9 that on a plateau at an altitude of 5,000 meters, frontier soldiers wear individual exoskeleton systems to transport supplies. The equipment can help soldiers carry materials equivalent to the weight of an adult, and can effectively avoid waist and leg injuries.

Soldiers using individual exoskeleton claim that with about 20 kilograms of materials on their backs, all the weight is on the exoskeleton and will not fall on the person.

The individual exoskeleton that appeared this time is suspected to be a general weight-bearing exoskeleton.

The total weight of the system is less than 5 kg. The maximum weight-bearing of the human body after wearing it can reach 70 kg, 30% weight reduction in the shoulders when walking, 50% weight reduction in the shoulders when standing, fast donning time is less than 2 minutes, fast releasing is less than 30 seconds.

After the user wears the exoskeleton, there is no interference with human movement, while it can adapt to various complex environments such as indoor, outdoor, plateau, wading, etc.
