The Chinese-made JD-500A (Golden Eagle 500A) unmanned helicopter was unveiled at the Dubai Airshow, according to a recent CCTV military report.
The JD-500A unmanned helicopter drone is a multi-purpose unmanned helicopter built for armies, with a tail rotorless design that is one-third shorter than traditional unmanned helicopters and easier to carry, and one transport vehicle can carry two such unmanned helicopter drones.
The JD-500A unmanned helicopter drone can mount a variety of munitions, electro-optical equipment and other mission loads, used to perform battlefield reconnaissance, target location, irradiation guidance, precision strike and damage assessment and other tactical missions, while having vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, short combat readiness and strong adaptability to the battlefield environment, according to the introduction.
