PL-15 is a new-generation intermediate-range air-to-air missile of China Air Force. Compared to current PL-12, it features upgraded rocket engine and guiding system, and reaches the level of American AIM-120D.
As a result, PL-15’s effective range increases for times, and with J-20 stealth fighter jet, AESA fire-control radar, it can shoot early warning aircrafts from a long distance away, eliminate enemy’s high-value air targets, and fundamentally weaken its air battle capacity.
