The commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, Davidson, publicly stated on December 4 that the PLA had accurately hit the target ship during the exercise of using anti-ship ballistic missiles to attack surface targets.

The day before, the U.S. Naval Research Institute reported that the Commander of Naval Combat Command Gilday stated that he would make a statement to President-elect Biden to build a larger and more powerful fleet.

The Chinese military exercise was conducted in August. The U.S. military has obviously been paying close attention to this exercise, and the Chinese side has no intention of hiding it from the United States. However, the United States did not make any statements or comments after the incident, and was even unwilling to officially disclose to the press that it had monitored the launch of several missiles. But everyone is familiar with the US military’s conditioned reflex model: silence means that the opponent is doing a good job. If the opponent messes up, the US military will jump out and laugh out loud.

According to analyst of Global Times, in the case of anti-ship ballistic missiles, the silence of the US military not only means that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army has done a good job, but also proves that the US military has no means of intercepting the missiles.

Anti-ship ballistic missiles are a kind of weapon with ballistic correction capability. The existing anti-missile system of the US military cannot intercept them in principle.

The PLA has sufficient missile storage

The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps believe that since they cannot intercept anti-ship missiles, they should build more and smaller warships and turn the loss into affordability. If these small warships were unmanned, the loss would be even smaller. After Joe Biden takes office, the U.S. military will certainly use greater efforts to promote this set of ideas.

But the analyst pointed out that this approach takes advantage of Joe Biden’s ignorance of military affairs because the cost of shipbuilding for the US military has been rising all the way and has reached an unbelievable level: an amphibious assault ship costs 3 billion US dollars, and a new frigate costs more than 1 billion US dollars. At such prices, whether the number of US warships can exceed the number of Chinese military missiles is really a suspenseful question.
