It’s reported that not long ago, when China’s Type 052D “Xining” destroyer joined joint military exercises with Iran and Russia, 052D opened its own Aegis-type radar in the Middle East, which rejoice Iranian military side.
The Aegis meter-wave radar equipped on “Xining” destroyer can track US fifth-generation stealth fighter jets, which would be clearly visible. Some military fans joked that Iran should buy one such ship from China, which would greatly increase the Iranian navy’s air defense capabilities.
