In a recent interview with CCTV, Chinese military expert Cao Weidong said judging from the photos released on the internet, China’s first homemade aircraft carrier will be launched soon.
Besides, military expert Du Wenlong said although data of the carrier is similar to Carrier Liaoning, but its commanding system and core equipment have been improved, and homemade engines are used.
And the amount of J-15 fighters for the new aircraft carrier will also be different, due to adjustment of hangar and cabins.
Cao Weidong said fighting capacity of the new aircraft carrier will depend on level of national aviation system, because early warning airplanes and other types of planes will also be demanded apart from the fighters; and Du Wenlong predicted that with two carrier battle groups, China will increase difficulty of joint naval exercises and improve fighting capacity.
