Recently it was reported that J-11D fighter, which is rumored to be the best three-generation fighter in China, is still in development and will probably enter active service. It is said that the performance of J-11D will be more advanced than that of J-10C.
According to military analyst Zhuge Xiaoche, J-11D uses the same technology as J-20 stealth fighter, making its performance surpass J-10C, so Chinese military fans became to realize that it is no wonder that China no longer buys Su-35 from Russia – it already has better ones.
J-11 is a fighter aircraft independently researched and developed by China after thoroughly understanding the basis of Su-27 fighter plane. Although it has been available for some time, China has been upgrading it on the basis of this fighter plane or developed other fighters.
J-11D is the latest derivative of this fighter. Although it is also “J-11”, it is a reborn one from the original model. It has been upgraded in all aspects and could be the strongest third-generation fighter in Asia.
For the inside of J-11D, it can be seen from the oblique installation of the external radome that it uses the latest generation of airborne phased array radar developed by China.
In addition, other on-board electronic systems have also been upgraded, such as the internal integrated fire control electronic system, and are also equipped with L-band radar antennas, allowing fighters to detect enemy aircraft without turning on the nose radar to maintain concealment. The existence of these can allow J-11D to play a greater electronic warfare advantage in air combat.
Furthermore, J-11D fighter may also have the ability to share data links, to share radar information with other own fighters in the same airspace to enhance the combat capability of the cluster. And J-11D is likely to be installed with the same type of airborne electronic equipment as J-20, to enhance its electronic warfare capabilities. After all, electronic warfare will definitely play an increasingly important role in future air combat.
Besides, composite materials are also used on the body of J-11D. Compared with the previous materials, the composite materials have the same performance and can reduce the weight of the body to a certain extent.
The new J-11 also adds a lot of weapon racks, so it can carry more weapons. In fact, its number of hangers has even reached 12, which can completely mount China’s strongest weapon system, whether it is electronic warfare or air warfare or even ground attack.
In general, the emergence of J-11D represents that China has already possessed considerable technical and industrial strength. Not only can it develop advanced fighter aircraft supporting systems, but it can also use different technologies to optimize different fighter aircraft.
Bringing the combat potential of a model to the limit is actually a demonstration of China’s strength in all aspects. J-11D has become a fairly advanced three-and-a-half-generation fighter. Naturally, there is no need to buy Su-35 fighters.
