Prior to this, on the 23rd, which was the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Navy, Chinese President Xi Jinping awarded flags to the Long March 18 (Changzheng 18), Dalian and Hainan ships at the Sanya military base in Hainan, and boarded them for inspection.

The handover ceremony began at about 15:30 on the same day. Xi Jinping handed over the flag on the spot, and boarded the ship to inspect the weapons and equipment, communicated with naval officers and soldiers, and signed on the logbook.

During the period, Xi Jinping also met with naval research and production personnel and naval officers and soldiers, and took a group photo with the captain of the ship.

The Changzheng 18 is the latest type 094A Jin-class strategic nuclear submarine of the Chinese Navy. The Dalian ship is the third ship of Type 055 million-ton destroyer, and the Hainan Ship is the first ship of Type 075 amphibious assault ship.

The Hainan ship is named according to the Chinese ship naming rules. The aircraft carriers and cruisers are named after administrative provinces (regions) or phrases. The first Type 075 amphibious assault ship is named Hainan Ship, which is the third ship named after a province, after the aircraft carrier Liaoning Ship and Shandong ship.

According to public data, the Type 075 amphibious assault ship has a length of 250 meters, a width of 30 meters, a draft of 8.5 meters, and a speed of 23 knots. The displacement is estimated to be 40,000 tons. It can carry 30 helicopters while taking off six helicopters at the same time. It is equipped with amphibious 63 series tanks and personnel carriers, as well as ZTD-05 high-speed amphibious assault tanks, or Type 05 amphibious infantry fighting vehicles. Weapons equipped on Type 075 ship include two 30mm close defense guns and two short-range HQ-10 missile launch systems.
