At a sensitive time when Sino-US relations continue to be tense and the situation in the Taiwan Strait is on the verge of escalation, China’s CCTV has revealed for the first time the site of an electromagnetic launch test, after a retired Chinese military officer revealed that China will use electromagnetic rail guns in its attack on Taiwan.

The launch process does not use gunpowder, no boom, no fire. According to the report, the electromagnetic gun will become a powerful tool for forest firefighting, and can launch fire extinguishing bombs to achieve long-range strikes on mountain fires.

On Oct. 30, China’s CCTV military “Military Armament Zero Distance” reported in more detail that the test was a kind of electromagnetic fire extinguishing gun for forest firefighting, which is used for long-range precision firefighting.

The analysis said that the electromagnetic catapult technology is widely used by both the military and civilians, and it shows that China’s electromagnetic catapult technology is very mature. Not only does it have shipboard electromagnetic rail guns, but also vehicle-mounted electromagnetic rail guns, which also indicates that China’s electromagnetic rail guns have achieved miniaturization, generalization, serialization and actual combat!

As early as April 2016 it was reported that China had conducted its first test of an electromagnetic cannon at the Inner Mongolia Artillery Range: 25 kilograms of projectiles were fired to a predetermined area 250 kilometers away. Satellite photos showed that the Chinese electromagnetic rail gun was 33.5 meters long and could penetrate a 10-meter-thick concrete gun target and multiple layers of armor plates.

According to China’s Science and Technology Daily in August 2018, Han Junli, a researcher at an army research institute, developed an electromagnetic catapult rocket gun by combining electromagnetic catapult technology with field rocket launch technology after an exchange with Chinese academician Ma Weiming.

When the electromagnetic catapult rocket launcher is fired, it first uses electromagnetic catapult technology to eject the rocket far from the catheter, turning the previously hot-launched rocket launcher into a cold launcher that has a large initial velocity before the rocket ignites in the air, which can significantly increase both the speed of the rocket and the range of the rocket, and will also allow reconnaissance satellites to mistakenly consider the rocket ignition location as the position location, enhancing the deception of the rocket position and improving battlefield survivability.

This electromagnetic catapult rocket can be guided, long range, low cost, good concealment, not a missile, better than a missile, specifically tailored for the “Taiwan independence” forces, is a killer weapon in the fight against “Taiwan independence”.

As early as 1991, the U.S. Defense Science Board predicted that “the future of high-performance weapons will inevitably be based on electrical energy.”

Ma Weiming, known as the “father of Chinese electromagnetic catapult,” predicted that “electromagnetic catapult technology will replace traditional chemical energy technology within 10 years. The role of electromagnetism is very big and ubiquitous. As far as a carriage is concerned, most of what can be done with chemical energy in the past can also be done with electromagnetic energy.”
