“I believe that reporters will not be disappointed,” said Tan Min in a recent interview, who is deputy director of the Joint Command Office for China’s Oct 1st National Day Parade and deputy chief of staff of the Central War Zone of PLA.
On September 24th, a group interview was held to answers questions about the 70th anniversary the People’s Republic of China, and a journalist from Japan’s Asahi Shimbun asked: “I want to ask questions about weapons and equipment. Which advanced weapons will be unveiled on the military parade this year, such as Dongfeng 41? Thank you.”
And here was General Tan’s answer:
“The parade for the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China has always been a matter of great concern to our reporters. The weapons and equipment to be displayed this time have two major characteristics: The first is that all the equipment to show are main battle equipment domestically produced. Among them are some new equipment, which will show the composition of our military joint combat equipment system, and fully reflect the independent innovation capability of China’s national defense scientific research. The second is that the degree of informationization of the equipment to show is generally high. Specifically, their command and control capabilities are stronger, the strike accuracy is higher, the battlefield adaptability is better, and the combat effectiveness is greater. As for the question of the new weapons such as Dongfeng 41 that you mentioned, there is still less than one week from October 1st. Please wait and see, I believe that the reporters will not be disappointed, thank you!”
