Not long ago, the Chinese Air Force revealed that H-6K bomber already had the ability to “double-kill targets” outside the defense zone. And the latest training of H-6K bombers near Taiwan Island has proved this.
That means, one H-6K can carry two YJ-63 air-to-ground missiles (or “KD-63), which can conduct “one-entry, two-volley” – striking two different targets at the same time. Judging from the latest pictures of H-6K released by Chinese Air Force, YJ-63 air-to-surface missiles mounted on H-6K have been improved.
H-6K bomber has an addental pylon under its belly, to mount a missile guidance pod. This pod is used to link the missiles with the carrier. And H-6K also has a fairing on the belly, which is the data link radome to connect the missiles and the bomber.
In this way, H-6K has two data links, which can control two YJ-63 air-to-ground missiles against two ground targets at the same time, and thus its combat effectiveness is greatly improved.
