According to Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense on April 12, 25 mainland Chinese military aircraft were present in the Taiwan Strait. Among these 25 military aircraft, a total of 14 J-16s, known as the main force for future attacks on Taiwan, were deployed to fly in two areas to disturb Taiwan and cross the Taiwan Strait east of the southern end of the center line. In addition, among the 25 Chinese military aircraft, 4 H-6K bombers were also included, setting a record for the number of China’s military aircraft circling Taiwan island.
According to the official microblog of the Chinese think tank “South China Sea Strategic Situational Awareness”, the USS Roosevelt aircraft carrier left the South China Sea at 10 a.m. on April 12, and the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island, which entered the South China Sea with it, was heading to the Philippine coast to participate in U.S.-Philippine military exercises.
Chinese military analysts generally believe that China’s J-16s and H-6 bombers, both of which can carry anti-ship missiles, have used this opportunity to conduct another simulated attack on a U.S. aircraft carrier, as the H-6 bombers did on the Roosevelt carrier in January, and that J-20 stealth fighters may also be among this group of fighters, just not detected.
