DF-15 ballistic missiles erected with muddy water

A missile brigade of the Chinese Rocket Force recently conducted a competition assessment exercise in a training field. “The two battalions from this brigade act as examiners and examinees respectively, and perform post-to-post and person-to-person assessments.” According to the “Military Report” program of China’s CCTV National Defense Military Channel. From the video, the Dongfeng-15 (DF-15) missile was featured this time.

As can be seen from the pictures, this exercise involves actual combat exercises in rainy and night environments. The DF-15 missiles were erected with muddy water in a “Southeast Forest”, which is very close to actual combat. According to analysis, this exercise is aimed at Taiwan.

Dongfeng-15 ballistic missile (DF-15, NATO code name: CSS-6, export type called M-9) is a surface-to-surface medium- and short-range tactical ballistic missile developed by China in the 1980s. DF-15B was later introduced on the basis of this missile type.
