The WJ-100 Blade drone from China Aerospace Science and Industry made its debut at a military parade celebrating the 30th anniversary of the independence of Kyrgyzstan in its capital Bishkek on Aug. 31, according to a Chinese web source.
The WJ-100 Blade UAV was independently developed by the 8357 Institute of the Third Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry, which is called “the most intelligent UAV in China”. It was officially put into use in 2009.
The WJ-100 Blade UAV passed the test of low temperature and other harsh environments, and its control accuracy and reliability were even higher than those of similar international products, according to its official introduction.
WJ-100 uses a twelve-kilowatt engine, propeller propulsion, nacelle-type fuselage, double tail beam structure, and front three-point landing gear. It has a wingspan of 3.98 meters, a fuselage length of 2.8 meters, a cruising speed of 120 kilometers per hour, a ceiling of 4,000 meters, and a battery life of three hours. It takes off in a taxiing manner and the taxiing distance is less than 90 meters.
The WJ-100 Blade UAV has a maximum level flight speed of 250 km/h, an endurance of three hours, and a maximum flight of 3,000 meters, which is the fruit of the Institute’s military-civilian integration.
